16 iGoogle

I like all the google tools. I view igoogle as a means of efficiently accessing those things that I am commonly interested in. It's good to instantly know the weather report, cricket scores and movie reviews.

Book search and scholar

User friendly Google, using Book Search and Scholar made it easy to find VU books and articles. As tempting as this service may be to utilise it should be kept in mind that the extensive searching capabilities of Google may present the unsuspecting with non-authoritive sources.

Here I am in Google Docs creating a new document that I will be able to save and access from any computer. I wonder if I can transport it as my 14th blog?

13 Google maps

I love Google maps!!! Something efficient, practical and very useful! I've just been to the UK, QLD, to my parent's home, my neice's and my own home. My only concern is that everyone in the whole world with access to this technology can do the same thing - I wonder who's watching?

Thing 11

Searching for some library blogs on Technorati has sucessfully led me to resourceshelf and added it to my feedreader.

thing 10

Digg - I haven't made my mind up about this site. The admission of the concentration of 'geeks' and American centric sources is a concern. There is alot to be said for diversity of opinion and authoritative information.

Thing 9

Google Reader has enabled me to connect to VU RSS feeds as well as an ABC feed. Conecting to the VU feed meant that I was able to efficiently read all the latest material that was available at my campus, staff and students also have this same opportunity which would keep them abreast of materials useful to them. The ABC feed means that I have the lastest cricket results - a very valuable resourse!!
